For “Going Steady,” I led the creative direction and photography, documenting the lives of four lifelong horsewomen and the relationships with horses that have shaped who they are. Each story called for a different approach, from a quiet evening on a ranch to the world of Hollywood horse stunt doubles, to arriving just hours after one of the ladies had helped guide her mare through a complicated birth. My role was to capture these women in their own worlds, finding the honest, unposed moments that brought their individual stories to life and celebrating the deep, often lifelong bond between women and their horses.
A sneak peek at the newest issue of Calling all Horse Girls - on stands Spring 2027.
For the upcoming luck-themed issue of Calling All Horse Girls, I helped bring a playful, fashion-forward concept to life celebrating the art of horse girl hair. We explored elevated, intricate basketweave braids, lucky horse charms woven into hairstyles, and even real horsehair extensions with matching scrunchies for horse and rider. The story blended equestrian tradition with beauty and editorial styling, reimagining a familiar part of horse culture through a fresh, imaginative lens.
